Howard began his career as an Economics lecturer at Leeds Polytechnic before moving on to become a senior economist at stockbroking firm Montagu Loebl Stanley. He joined Prudential-Bache as chief economist and director of the UK government bond department before moving on to Friends Provident as head of fixed interest and saving, eventually being promoted to chief investment officer of Friends Ivory &amp; Sime. In 2000, Howard became chief executive of FIS, which was rebranded Isis Asset Management in 2002 following the acquisition of Royal &amp; SunAlliance's investment business. After successfully completing the reverse takeover of Foreign &amp; Colonial, he became chief executive of the enlarged group. He retired as CEO of F&amp;C in 2006, taking up the role of Chairman at Augustus Asset Managers, a specialist manager of fixed interest and currency assets.  

A much sought-after speaker at Asset Management Industry forums, Howard also interfaces regularly with government. He was a speaker at the Intergovernmental Conference on Extractive Industries Transparencies Initiative organised by UK Government and was a member of the Corporate Leaders Advisory Group to the UK Government on Climate Change Issues.

Tea and coffee will be available from 6.30pm and we are planning to start at 7pm.   The discussions will finish around 8.30pm when a buffet and drinks will be served.

The agenda is still being finalised but is likely to include a review of the last six months of the project and a summary of the organisations who are being helped.  If there is anything members' would like us to add to the agenda we would be happy to discuss it e.g a discussion of some of the issues that members have faced while mentoring organisations.
